| Working on iden Motorola 800 MHz cellular system, covering activities of
planning, expansions and upgradations of OMCR, BSCs and dispatch system. |
| In OMCR, worked on Sun Unix System. Clear idea of Unix servers, tandem 1000, sparc 20,
packet switch and channel bank. |
| In BSCs commissioned new BSCs from database to integration, addition of CICsMTLs and
upgradations. |
| In dispatch two-way radio system, worked on Metro Packet Switch from NewBridge and

Engineer Planning
| Worked since beginning of the project of Cellular Telephone in Pakistan for the first
time, with Ericsson experts and carried out installation, testing and commissioning of all
the RBSs of Phase 1 of Paktel Southern Region. |
| The job responsibilities also include development, work planning and supervision of
installation, commissioning and exchange radio interfaces of RBSs. |
| Carried out Microwave transmission commissioning (4*2 links and 8*2 links) with Ericsson
experts and supervised the work of PCM connections (240 channels on 2 Mbit/s) between RBSs
and PSTN. |
Engineer II Operations
| During last three years of my stay in the company, as a main job, carried out operation
and maintenance duties of RBSs including Radios, ERIs and Microwave links of
the system. Also devised new operational and trouble shooting techniques. I was supposed
to report Senior Engineer ? Operation and my staff includes 2 Assistant Engineers and
2 technicians. |
| During the above mentioned period I also involved Karachi cellular base stations network
expansion from six to twelve RBSs in which last two fully supervised by me independently
upto on air and optimization of the whole network. |
| Prepared and implemented the Microwave transmission plan (including expansions) for
Karachi International city and carried out commissioning and maintenance duties of the
microwave system for whole cellular network. |
| Supervised technical duties of the technicians, Assistant Engineers and Training
Engineers. |
| For two months I have been in AXE-10 Ericsson switch to fulfil the manpower requirement
and carried out daily operations and maintenance. |
| During last year of stay, had been for technical assistance in cell planning concerning
C/I, frequency reuse, interference and limitation of channel in Paktel southern region,
making site feasibility reports and selection of new sites for the network and established
two remote city base stations mentioned above after performomg detailed survey. |
| Test surveys after installation of test transmitters and commisioning of Cell Enhancers
for better coverage had been also a part of my technical experience. |
The test instruments used are Marconi 2955R and Schlumberger Stabilock
4040 communication test sets, HP 8590B Spectrum Analyzer, Tektronix TDR meter, WG VF PCM
tester, GN Elmi PCM meter, BERT tester and others. |
